I put out a collection jar at the gym and within a week, we came up with the money needed to adopt Mahi, a juvenile green sea turtle found near Ponte Vedra, Florida. Mahi is being rehabilitated at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center on Jekyll Island, after getting tangled up in a fishing line. A huge ball of the stuff was found in his/her stomach and wrapped around the front right flipper, which had to be amputated. Despite missing a flipper, Mahi is swimming very well in deep water. We are getting updates on Mahi’s progress and are hopeful that s/he will be released back into the ocean one day.
I had a terrible dream last night about my turtles. It was so upsetting that I don’t want to remember enough to retell it here.
